I specialize in providing neurodiversity-affirming counseling for adults with late identified neurodivergence (autism, ADHD, AuDHD) or those who are questioning possible neurodivergence. I also love working with highly sensitive persons (HSPs) and folks who are dealing with anxiety, depression, job/career troubles, grief, challenges with relationships (romantic, family, or friends), unwanted behaviors, difficulty finding purpose or meaning, a desire for better self care or greater self compassion, echoes of wounds from childhood, or loneliness.

As your counselor, you can expect me to be genuine, warm, curious, straightforward, positive, caring, and non-judgmental. If you want to be challenged to expand beyond your ‘comfort zone’ in order to better pursue your goals, I’ll work with you to identify when and how you prefer to be supportively challenged. If you already have clearly defined needs or goals, together we’ll chart a course for counseling that is designed to help you in these areas, and we’ll adjust our approach and strategies along the way as needed. If you don’t have clearly defined goals or needs at this time, that’s totally okay and actually very common. We can still explore what is meaningful to you and seek to uncover insight that will shed light on a path that feels right for you. While respecting your comfort level and moving at a pace that you approve, I’ll seek to know you on a deeper level and to tailor a counseling experience that is uniquely crafted to support you.

Counseling can help create pathways to healing, self-knowledge, self-acceptance, a greater sense of purpose, more fulfilling relationships, more effective ways of managing life’s challenges, or a greater ability to act in alignment with what matters most to you. However, a lot of people find it challenging to get started. If that’s true for you, please know that it's totally normal. And it’s important to find a counselor who’s a good fit for your personality, goals, and needs, so being thoughtful in your selection process can be helpful.
If you’d like to explore whether I may be a good fit as your counselor, please feel free to reach out. I’d love to hear from you and schedule a free consultation.

My standard fee is $175 per 50-minute session. I also have limited sliding-scale fee availability for folks with financial need. I’m not in-network with any insurers, but I am able to provide a “superbill” that you can submit to your insurance company for potential out-of-network reimbursement.

I see clients during afternoon and evening time slots on Wednesdays, Thursdays, or Fridays. For ongoing clients, it’s generally recommended to begin with weekly meetings in order to build a solid foundation for the counseling process. Most of my ongoing clients select a standard, recurring meeting day and time, but I also strive to be as flexible as possible about rescheduling appointments when needed. We can discuss your unique scheduling needs during the consultation call.

For folks who, like myself, are (or may be) neurodivergent, specialized training has prepared me to provide affirming counseling that addresses common concerns and goals such as neurodivergent identity exploration, neurodivergent burnout, masking and unmasking, social concerns, communication challenges, impulse control, executive functioning concerns, time blindness, limerence, etc.
Being “neurodiversity affirming” means that I recognize the inherent worth of folks whose brains work in a diversity of ways, including those who are neurotypical and those who are neurodivergent. The view that neurodivergent people are “disordered” or “deficient” has been challenged by many researchers and mental health professionals in recent years. The affirming counseling approach leaves those harmful perspectives behind; instead, it supports the mental health and wellbeing of neurodivergent folks in a way that empowers them to truly be themselves rather than directing them to strive towards behavior patterns or lifestyles that are based on neurotypical norms. I believe that the best way to support someone in accomplishing goals or overcoming struggles is to recognize and honor them as they truly are and to help them tap into their own authentic strengths, passions, and values.
With all that said, whether you're neurodivergent or neurotypical, there are countless complex aspects that make up ‘you,’ and you can never be reduced to any label. That’s why I always aim to listen first and to keep my counseling approach flexible based on your unique history, personality, needs and goals.

Many of my clients experience and move through the world in “other ways”–ways that diverge from those of the majority. This may be due to differing life experiences or inborn differences. In truth, all individuals have “other ways”—it’s just that for some people these differences may be more pronounced than for others. Each of us has a unique path to walk in life and a singular way of walking that path. I strive to see you for who you truly are and to provide counseling that honors your “other ways.”
